Icebreaker Sampo arrives in Turku 11.4.-1.5.2026
The vessel will be moored on the River Aura on Saturday, 11 April, as part of Forum Marinum’s museum fleet, behind the steamship s/s Bore. The visit offers the public a unique opportunity to experience a piece of Finnish maritime history that is still fully operational. Prepared in close cooperation with Forum Marinum, Sampo’s visit combines stories of Finnish seafaring, world-class technical expertise, and experiential tourism into a compelling and immersive whole.
Guided tours
A guided tour will introduce you to the history of the ship and the facilities where the icebreaker is operated. Guided tours are available daily.
May Day Cruise
The highlight of the Icebreaker Sampo’s visit to Turku will be the May Day Cruise on 1st of May 2026. The cruise includes a delicious brunch, a guided tour on board and live music.
